D to the Elaware!

After spending a nice relaxing work filled time at the beach we headed north to Delaware. A lot of you may not realize this, but Delaware is a U.S. state located on the Atlantic Coast in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. And I know a lot of you are probably thinking and a few of you may have moved your lips while thinking, “YOU DON’T SAY!” Yes, I do say.

Delaware is known as the “First State.” To be called Delaware. Which really isn’t that much of an accomplishment.

We hooked up at Killens Pond State Park, which was a pretty awesome place (except for all the black widows). They had hiking, kayaking, a nature center where we touched a snake, emotionally. It’s really nice they had all that stuff right near our campsite because every way into the park had names like MurderKill River, Slaughter Road, and Buy An RV And Travel Because You Are Scared Of Letting Your Life Pass You By Parkway! So we stayed put, and enjoyed ourselves. We decided to try out GeoCaching. I know we are like 14 years late. If I had to describe Geocaching in my own words, I’d say it’s …an outdoor recreational activity, in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called “geocaches” or “caches”, anywhere in the world.

Luckily there were a bunch of caches hidden around Killens pond! We spent an entire day finding as many as we could. One cache eluded us though, and put us in a sour mood for the rest of the evening. The next morning we awoke feeling refreshed and thought in our dreams we had solved the puzzle leading to the cache, so we ran back to the site. Of course we still couldn’t find it so we ended up in a bad mood again. Geocaching is awesome and sucky at the same time.

Check out all of our Delaware photos here!

We left the park with sad hearts and head to NY where hopefully the geocaches would be much easier to find and the roads would be less hostile.
